Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) The COSHH regulations have been made in order to ensure that substances hazardous to health are identified prior to use and that any associated risk is eliminated or controlled. Substances may cause harm to health by entering or contaminating the body in a number of ways. These include inhalation, ingestion, skin or eye contact, skin absorption, piercing or infection of open wounds/broken skin.

DO:

Ensure that you understand and follow the instructions for the safe use of materials. Stop work if you feel unwell or have a skin reaction when using any chemicals and report it to your supervisor immediately. Ensure all hazardous substances are disposed of in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act.
