MENORCA CRICKET CLUB THE BALEARIC CUP Matches are up and running at the Menorca Cricket Club (MCC). One of the highlights of the season is the Balearic Cup and this year it took place in Menorca over three days on 12,13 and 14th May. Dan Osterbery, Chairman of MCC reports “Having lost to Ibiza on Friday, there was a great final match at Biniparrell on the Sunday when we beat Mallorca Cricket Club. It was an incredible match and a complete team performance from our boys. A thrilling end to the competition with all teams having one win each. Ibiza Cricket Club were current holders and so they get to keep the trophy for another year. Thanks to all the supporters who helped make the atmosphere at the ground so electric!” Roshan Goonesekera from Mallorca commented, “It was a fantastic weekend and to be at the picturesque ground was simply amazing. Thanks for your hospitality. After our win on Saturday, we were brought back to earth by a very determined Menorca team. Even when Mallorca were over a 100 without a wicket, they never let their heads hang but were always positive and were very worthy winners. Looking forward to the next Balearic Cup.” MCC modelling their new kit, thanks to sponsors Mehoca, Bambu Menorca, and Home Menorca
