ADOPT, DON’T SHOP, this holiday season!! ROCKIN4RESCUE Makes Donation to Last Hope Animal Rescue of Wantagh By Bobbie Arnel

t this holiday time of year, we need to remember the animals which are alone and scared, just as we empathize with people alone for the holidays without families with whom to celebrate. Rockin4Rescue was formed in 2017 by Bobbie and Curt Arnel of Merrick, to collect and donate money to Long Island animal rescues. One hundred percent of the funds collected are donated to worthy local rescues. On Sunday, November 10, at KJ Farrell’s in Bellmore, Rockin4Rescue presented a $500 check to Last Hope Animal Rescue of Wantagh. In addition, Rockin4Rescue put out a canister for monetary donations, in which an additional $295 was collected for Last Hope. A fabulous local live classic rock band “Off the Record”, and afterwards, a talented musician’s jam, entertained the audience all evening. At this time of year, many people will go to puppy stores, and choose an adorable little puppy as a holiday gift for their child. However, many of these dogs ultimately end up in shelters due to excuses such as: “we are moving and can’t take our dog”, “the dog got bigger than we thought it would”, “we don’t have time
for him/her”, “he/she is tearing up our yard”, etc. Statistics show that 90 percent of dogs who enter a shelter will never walk out. If you are still intent on getting a dog as a holiday gift, PLEASE consider adopting a dog from a local shelter, such as Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter or Town of Babylon Animal Shelter, or from any one of a myriad of wonderful local animal rescues, including Bobbi and the Strays of Freeport, Last Hope of Wantagh, Yorkie 911, etc. You will feel SO GOOD about the special life you just saved!!!
