Lauren brings many years of administration experience to the role having previously worked for construction and accounting firms in the Newcastle/Maitland area. Lauren and husband John, left Cobar at the end of 2006, and have recently returned to live in Cobar with their two boys. For the past 16 and a half years the family has been living a very busy life in the Newcastle/Maitland area and Lauren said they were pleased to be able to come back to Cobar to be closer to family. Lauren said they also wanted to give their boys the experience of getting some red dirt between their toes. Living a slower pace of life that Cobar offers also appealed to them. She said the boys are loving visiting Drummond Park, the skate park and the youth centre and are also enjoying the freedom of being able to ride their bikes to school. Both boys play a lot of sport including soccer, touch and basketball and are now trying out rugby league. Lauren said she hopes to be able to join the local netball competition next season. “We are enjoying it so far, we’re still settling in and catching up with people,” Lauren said. “It’s funny meeting people who were chilCobar Bowling & Golf Club secretary/manager Jason Howell has welcomed Lauren dren when we left and have grown up and now have children of their own,” she said.
