he Arriagada-Malone’s family have been part of the St Peters Springfield community since it opened its doors in 2008. The family have three sons with their eldest, Alexis, being the first student enrolled at St Peters Springfield. Alexis’ younger brother Marcelo also enrolled at the same time with the youngest son Themys, enrolling in 2009. During their time at the College, the brothers have personified the two expectations of all Springfield students—to strive for Plus Ultra – ever higher, more beyond—and to treat everybody with Care, Dignity and Respect. They set the standard for future students embodying what is expected when it comes to conduct and behaviour, and a commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning. Alexis started in Year 5 and, after graduating, pursued his interest in Robotics and Technology, enrolling in a Bachelor of Mechatronics - Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He has since established and operates his own 3D printing business, being able to turn his passion into the start of a career. Marcelo, a very talented Track & Field athlete, graduated in 2017. Marcelo served in a variety of leadership roles including School Vice Captain (2017), Sports Captain (2017) and Cunningham House Vice Captain/Captain (2016/2017). He was an exemplary student who was dedicated to demonstrating the College’s values. In keeping with the College’s Plus Ultra mindset, Marcelo returned to the College in 2021 to complete his internship at St Peters Springfield, as part of a Bachelor of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Marcelo saw the internship as an opportunity for personal growth and development but also giving him the chance to contribute back to the St Peters community that offered him so much. Marcelo also works as a current staff member of the OSHC team (Outside School Hours Care) at Springfield. With the youngest brother Themys about to finish Year 12, our partnership with their family in the brother’s education journey will now draw to a conclusion.
