T
his year at the SSAA Convention, we have a special guest speaker, Cesare Carcano, CEO of CaSaforte Self Storage in Italy and Switzerland. He will present information about CaSaforte Self Desk (Max), an interactive tool that provides the same services that an information desk operator or storage operator would offer in person. The company’s primary objective in developing this system was to satisfy customers’ expectations as each customer has specific requirements to suit their business. CaSaforte works with people who are looking for innovative solutions. “Vision, Consistency and Choice” are their way of presenting the company to the world. From the beginning, they had to imagine how to realise the vision of the Self Desk through design and

technology. This vision now sees them at the summit of the self storage evolution. With the rapid growth of their facilities in the outskirts of Italy’s major cities, as well as the supervision of the management team responsible for this growth (and knowing their strengths and weaknesses), led them to study and experiment new possibilities, and the necessary technologies to improve daily processes and procedures. CaSaforte has succeeded in solving small and significant critical issues through an innovative technological revolution developed with meticulous attention from their technical offices in Italy. As Cesare Carcano explains: “We needed a technology that could help us manage our facilities almost without a team member on site. At the same time, though, we wanted to
maintain that fundamental human relationship with our customers.” With this vision of ‘the human being and his needs at the centre’, CaSaforte guarantees a pleasant experience by making each customer feel at ease. Called ‘Max’, their Self Desk Kiosk Casaforte, allows the customer to communicate with a team member (video specialist) and answer all requests remotely. The video specialist is always available to carry out any required tasks and services: even through to signing the contract. ‘Max’ wasn’t created to substitute human interaction but to enable that immediate and effective, human, response to the customer. It all started in 2015 when the Casaforte Self Desk V1 was born. It was then quickly implemented both for quality and aesthetics turning into Casaforte Self Desk V2 technology.
