We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

“She is confident that she has traits and skills that are unique to her and that she can use those to be a good friend, a good sister, a good daughter, etc. She is okay with having differences with others and knows that conflicts do not have to result in interactions that tear others down. She speaks often about all the things she wants to accomplish in her life that will impact the world in a positive way.” -GOTR parent

Service Area Girls on the Run® of Southwest Missouri serves an average of 350 girls in Greene and Christian counties each year through participation in one of our two 10-week program offerings. We are an independent council of Girls on the Run International which has a network of over 200 councils across all 50 states and has delivered its evidence-based programming to more than 2 million girls since 1996.

Funding Girls on the Run of Southwest Missouri is funded through program revenues, program sponsorships, private and corporate donors, special events, such as our annual 5k, grants and through our SoleMates peer-to-peer charity fundraising program.

12 Month Goals • Create awareness-raising opportunities that help develop lasting relationships with businesses and increase program sponsorships to support girls with the greatest need. • Continue to make our program accessible to more girls through strategic partnerships with likeminded community agencies and to utilize more nontraditional sites for program delivery. • Rebuild program revenues to 75% of pre-covid numbers by showing program impact through focused marketing.

Annual Events • Big Shots Golf Event – October 14, 2021 • Girls on the Run 5k – May 7, 2022

How People and Businesses Can Help Over half of our girls are from low-income families and require a scholarship to participate in our life-changing program. Businesses can provide girls from the most vulnerable area schools with the opportunity to participate through our Adopt-ATeam initiative. Individuals can give a girl a program scholarship, fund the purchase of running shoes, or raise funds and awareness through our SoleMates charity. Join our monthly giving program to invest in the future of area girls. SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL | ADVERTISING SUPPLEMENT
