How People and Businesses Can Help

Many individuals who receive services at The Arc of the Ozarks receive government funding, Medicaid, or Social Security to help meet their basic needs. However, there are many items such as bus passes, therapeutic summer camp or clothing for a job seeker that are not covered. Donations from individuals and businesses help support The Arc’s unfunded programs and services that enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Testimonials

“Our daughter, Avery (Age 10) has been going to The Arc’s Summer Recreation Program for three years now. Avery has Down syndrome and really lives in the moment without much thought to what is going on in the future. The Arc is the one thing that she gets really excited about in advance. This year, when she was dropped off on the first day, she looked at us and said, “You and Elena (her sister) go home. I am going to play with my friends!” She always ends her day at The Arc with a huge smile and tells us of all the fun she has had. I would recommend this program to anyone. It has been one of the greatest things to come into our lives and I hope others are able to sign up in the future.” – Eric Lampe, The Arc of the Ozarks Board of Director’s Vice-Chair

“The Arc of the Ozarks came to me during a time when I had no hope of being an active part of the community. In the first months of being with them, I was already making progress. Now I work, I pay my bills and participate in community events on my own. I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t have the opportunity and support of The Arc of the Ozarks when I did.” – Jet Klabo, formerly served by The Arc of the Ozarks

“I am proud to work for a company that does not just have a mission statement but works to fulfill and embody that mission on every level. We work together as a team to empower and encourage everyone around us to feel valued and safe. It is a joy to have a profession where we believe and invest in each other.” – Samantha Wilson, program supervisor at The Arc of the Ozarks
