Student Athletes
Compliance All student-athletes must be considered a full-time student. Any student-athlete enrolled in less than 12 credits is not eligible to practice/compete/participate in team-related functions. All student-athletes must pass a minimum of 6 credits per semester. To be eligible for the upcoming semester, student-athletes must pass at least 18 credits between the previous two semesters. • All student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 • All student-athletes must meet the following progress-towards-degree requirements after each academic year Credit Requirements • After freshman year 24 credits passed • After sophomore year 40% of their credits earned going towards their declared degree • After junior year 60% of their credits earned going towards their declared degree • After senior year 80% of their credits earned going towards their declared degree (if using a 5th year, non-Graduate student) First-Year Academic Meetings During their first semester, all first-year student-athletes (transfers excluded) will meet with their Success Coach on a bi-weekly basis. The first-year student-athlete will be required to complete a self-evaluation form prior to each meeting. The meetings will consist of a review of the form (upcoming assignments, grades received, resources needed) while also addressing any other needs/concerns that the student-athlete may have. During their second semester, all first-year student-athletes (transfers excluded) not considered “at-risk” will be required to submit professor progress reports at the end of each month. At-Risk Student-Athletes A student-athlete is considered “academically at risk” if their cumulative GPA is below 2.5. All at-risk student-athletes must attend a weekly meeting with their Coach. All at-risk studentathletes are required to complete a self-evaluation form prior to each meeting. The meeting will consist of a review of the form (upcoming assignments, grades received, resources needed) while also addressing any other needs/concerns that the student-athlete may have. All at-risk student-athletes are required to submit a professor evaluation at the end of each month. A time management chart/syllabus breakdown will be created for each at-risk studentathlete, detailing all of their courses and the required assignments/exams/etc. that they will have throughout the semester.
