LIU Students can transfer up to 72 credits from a community college and up to 96 credits from a four year university or institution upon Admission to the University. Students transferring with over 72 or 96 credits should be reviewed to ensure the courses that are transferring in match up with their degree of choice. Grades below a C- are not accepted, unless the student has earned a degree. • Associate degree holders are eligible to have all their credits transferred • Holders of AA or AS degrees are deemed to have satisfied ALL general core requirements. • Courses that do not clearly satisfy program requirements/equivalencies may be utilized as electives and are worthy of credits

IB/AP/College Credits & Accepted Scores

LIU offers 6 to 8 college credits for each score of 4 or higher on I.B. Higher Level examinations. Advanced Placement credit is awarded to entering students who submit their score through College Board and meet required scores.

CLEP

Students who receive the required scores on the CLEP examinations will receive introductory level college credit for the specific area.
