This one-year full-time programme at QQI Level 5 provides a wide range of subject areas within the ever-growing sport and leisure industry. There is particular emphasis on sports injury prevention, which incorporates exploring factors associated with common sport related injuries, including appropriate methods of prevention and treatment. The programme also examines the nutritional composition of food, including digestion, absorption and the effects of food and nutrition on an individual’s health and well-being. South East Technological Univerity (SETU), Carlow Strength & Conditioning (Level 8) and Waterford IT Nutrition & Exercise Science. (Level 8). Learners can also progress to the UK and European institutions.
