Sports Nutrition & Injury Prevention QQI Level 5

This one-year full-time programme at QQI Level 5 provides a wide range of subject areas within the ever-growing sport and leisure industry. There is particular emphasis on sports injury prevention, which incorporates exploring factors associated with common sport related injuries, including appropriate methods of prevention and treatment. The programme also examines the nutritional composition of food, including digestion, absorption and the effects of food and nutrition on an individual’s health and well-being.

Progression Options Links to 3rd Level: Learners who successfully complete the QQI Level 5 Sports, Nutrition & Injury programme can apply to third level courses including TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) Athletic Rehabilitation & Therapy (L8). South East Technological Univerity (SETU), Carlow Strength & Conditioning (Level 8) and Waterford IT Nutrition & Exercise Science. (Level 8). Learners can also progress to the UK and European institutions.
Career Options: Learners will acquire the skills, knowledge, and competency for future employment in the Leisure; Health; Wellness and Fitness Industries Entry Requirements Leaving Certificate or QQI Level 4, or equivalent standard of education. All applicants are subject to an interview and an online assessment.
