Each Other

By Sharyn Hanly Director of Community Engagement

Sadly, we were unable to be together for much of 2021, however in true Korowa spirit the community united and supported each other as challenges were presented. We were without the buzz and movement of students around the School in Term 3 as they continued distance learning from home, and to let them know how much they were missed and to brighten their day each student was sent a small gift from the Principal and staff during this time. Packages included cookies for Year 7, friendship bracelet kits for Year 8, chocolates for Years 9 and 10 and seedlings to our Junior School students. All Year 11 and Year 12 students were suitably spoilt with pamper packs!

Our Year 12 Father Daughter Breakfast tradition continued from home, with hampers delivered to share and enjoy together. Unable to socialise during their daughters’ final year, Year 12 parents gathered online for a “virtual” cocktail evening in association with Left Bank Melbourne, which everyone loved amid lots of chatter. Upon their return to School (finally!), our VCE students tackled the GAT exam and on leaving were presented with a sweet treat for their journey home. Junior School celebrated Halloween with creepy costumes, ghastly goodies and magical music. Whilst 2021 was full of surprises, some good and others less-so, the Korowa community remained compassionate, connected and above all, kind.
