Community unites to illuminate the Holiday Season & support the Homeless ThE FESTiVal OF TREES The Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter is proud to announce the upcoming "Blackstone Valley Festival of Trees," a heartwarming community event set to brighten this holiday season while supporting the homeless. Scheduled for December 1, 2, and 3, the festival invites the community to participate by donating decorated trees for a noble cause. This fundraising initiative aims to generate essential funds to provide shelter and support to the homeless during the challenging winter season ahead. To make this event a success, the organizers are calling on businesses, churches, and individuals to lend a helping hand by donating beautifully adorned trees. “The Festival of Trees is a remarkable opportunity for our community to come together, share the spirit of giving, and create a lasting impact," said Leslie reichert, Executive Director at the Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter. "We believe in the power of unity and hope that our community will join us in this heartfelt endeavor."
Participating in the Festival of Trees is both simple and generous. People can contribute by donating decorated trees that will be prominently displayed during the event. These trees will subsequently be raffled off to attendees, with the proceeds directly benefiting the shelter's efforts to support the homeless. The best part is that there is no cost associated with participation other than the donation of the tree itself. The Festival of Trees is open to the public on December 2 and 3, providing an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the beautifully adorned trees and embrace the holiday spirit. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their tree decorations, but a themed tree is not a requirement. The main focus is on the impact you can make in supporting those in need within the community. "We see this event as a win-win for everyone involved," added reichert. "Not only will it raise much-needed funds, but it will also allow businesses, churches, and families a way to showcase their community involvement and generosity, making this holiday season even more special."
