Uxbridge Senior Center November Activities

The following programs are sponsored by the Uxbridge Senior Center, 36 South Main Street in Uxbridge.

DIrECTOr NEWS:

Annual Thanksgiving meal distribution. This year’s meal will be held on Monday, November 20th. At your request, the lunch can be delivered to your home between the hours of 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or, if you prefer, you can pick it up at the senior center. Lunch will consist of a hot turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetable and a roll, with gravy and cranberry sauce on the side along with a personal sized Table Talk Pie for dessert. We are accepting donations of small cans of cranberry sauce, gravy and monetary donations to the Center. The lunch is free and open to all seniors and the disabled.

Please call the Center if you would like a lunch or if you would like to donate or volunteer. Once again, the center received a Fallon Health Mini Grant to cover for some of this project.

Appointments are available to help folks with Fuel Assistance Applications with SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council). This program begins on November 1st. Call the center for information and schedule appointment.

The November Newsletter is dedicated in remembrance of Bill Oncay. Bill helped the senior center for many years on the production of our monthly newsletters. We appreciated his expertise and professionalism of his work. Our hearts are heavy; we will miss him dearly. We will be filled with his spirit, humor and blessed to have known and work with him. rest in peace our dear friend.

We are proud to announce our new Wellness Coordinator to our team! Doreen Cedrone will be maintaining and promoting our exercise programs at the center. She will be working at the McCloskey School (our satellite space) with the Zumba & Low Impact classes. Uxbridge Senior Center has been selected by Shaw's to benefit from the GIVE BACK WHErE IT COUNTS Bag Program. receiving $1 from every $3 reusable GIVE BACK WHErE IT COUNTS Bag sold during this month.

ZUMBA & LOW IMPACT

ExErCISE CLASSES

Continue on Thursdays, November 2nd, 9th, 30th, December 7th & 14th. The senior center is sponsoring this series at no charge to Uxbridge residents, compliments of our Formula Grant. (There is a charge of $25 for non-residents). Zumba is from 1:302:30 p.m. and Low Impact Class 2:453:45 p.m. All classes are held at the satellite campus, McCloskey School, at 62 Capron Street. Pre-registration is required, stop by the center to pick up your registration and waiver forms. No classes on November 16th & 23rd.

BOOK CLUB

Tuesday, November 14th @ 1:00 p.m. – Uxbridge Library Book Club. They will be discussing “Dear Mrs. Bird” by AJ Pearce. You are welcome to join us for lunch on this day, just be sure to call ahead to “book” yours!
