Central Mass Mom: A Growing Resource for Area Mothers

By Robin Darling

At Central Mass Mom, our mission is to help moms feel supported through every stage of motherhood. We do this by creating relatable content on our blog, providing relevant local resources, and creating space for moms to connect virtually and in person. We are a team of just over 20 local moms with children of all ages who write about the honest truth of motherhood. That includes articles that discuss the hard parts and the joyful moments. We also love to write about our favorite local spots to take our kids and round up lists of our favorite local places for a night out.

In addition to our blog, we hold events all over Central Mass that provide an opportunity for moms to get out of the house and connect with other local moms. Our Mom’s Night Out events have been a huge hit because they are designed to be a fun and lowpressure environment. We are there to ensure that everyone has a great timewhether you come alone or bring a friend. We know how hard it can be to make friends as adults, especially during motherhood, and we are here to help start those bonds by creating a space for community.

We also understand how difficult it can be to find a babysitter, so we host events that include our kids too. During the spring, we host our playground meetup series and a splash pad meetup series in the summer. Our goal is to provide moms the opportunity to get out of the house to connect with other moms without the stress of finding someone to watch the kids. Some of the best friendships in motherhood come from a chat on a local playground. As we know, Central Mass covers an expansive amount of the state, so we try our best to include parks all over the area. We love connecting and partnering with local businesses for our events. Some of the businesses we have partnered with are local restaurants, bars, indoor play spaces, and activity-based businesses that provide the entertainment for our events. recently, we partnered with West End Creamery for a Date Night. It was the perfect location for a date night filled with yard games, pizza, and ice cream.

A note from the owner: My experience joining a new mom group was life-saving in a way I could not have anticipated. My hope is through Central Mass Mom, we can help provide the space for moms (new and not-so-new) to find what they need through friendships, resources, and relatable content.

“When I first became a mom, I felt more alone than I have ever felt. I looked and felt different, faced new challenges, and had a personally unmatched set of responsibilities to uphold. I desperately needed to connect with other people at the same stage of motherhood to normalize what I was experiencing - both positive and nega- tive. I needed to know what products might help me or my baby thrive or at the very least make life easier. I needed to know local places where I could take my baby to pass the time. I needed to know that I wasn't the first person to struggle with parenthood. My goal with our platform is to be the ultimate resource for mothers in Central Mass.”
