Howe seventh-grader Braden Ulmer raced approximately 40 yards for Howe's first score of the game to give the Bulldogs an early 6-0 lead. Boyd was able to return the kick to tie the game, however, and the game remained tied for most of the contest.

Howe recovered an onside kick with 5:02 left and Ulmer scored his second touchdown of the game with 1:23 left. He also converted the 2-point conversion to give the Dogs the 20-6 win and remain undefeated at 2-0.

Howe got on the board with a 38yard touchdown run by Cooper Jones. Quarterback Jacob Campbell ran in the 2-point conversion to cut the lead to 14-8 with 5:50 left in the second. Dakota Fetzer intercepted a Boyd pass and returned it 33 yards for a score to tie the game at 14 with 2:07 left before half. Boyd scored on a 19-yard pass early in the third quarter for the game's final score and a Boyd 20-14 win.

Howe's eighth grade faced a Boyd team full of big athletes on Thursday at Boyd. The game didn't start well for Howe as a
