Summit Hill Elementary Employee of the Month

Brooke Parten is new to Howe ISD this year and teaches kindergarten through fourth grade music and gifted/talented at Summit Hill and Howe Intermediate She previously taught choir, piano, general music and AVID for two years at Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee

Mrs Parten is originally from Leonard, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Music Education at Harding University and her Master of Music at Texas A&MUniversity-Commerce She currently lives in Melissa, Texas with her husband Barrett, cat Minerva, and Westie Remy.

Sales tax up 11 percent from 2018

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced last week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $801 5 million in local sales tax allocations for September, 8 5 percent more than in September 2018 These allocations are based on sales made in July by businesses that report tax monthly

Howe outpaced the state with a 10 92 percent increase from September 2018 Howe's total of $289,438 22 is up 10 77 percent from a year ago also

Mrs enjoys coffee, podcasts, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family She loves all of her students and is proud to be a Howe Bulldog!
