GOLF NEWS RULES CORNER QUESTION Anthony is playing hole #3 and drives the ball way right into the woods. He finds his ball but it in on the out of bounds line right by the stake. We are looking forward to the course greening up and playing fast! Our course has been in great shape and with the spring weather everyone needs to come out and enjoy this great layout. Our next MGA Social is March 21st and is the kick off to their Match Play event. Feel free to call the Golf Shop for more information on this event or go to Bridgemillmga.com to sign up. This should be a fun MGA event to be a part of. Ah, the coveted MGA Masters event is on April 25-26th and is right around the corner. Now is the time to hone your game for this MGA prime event. Anyone looking for help on their game should go to the Georgia Golf Performance website and look up their wonderful group of teachers who would love to help everyone get to a better understanding of their game. Go to gerogiagolfperformance.com for more information. The First Club event is the Member Guest on May 14th to 16th with the practice round being on the 14th. Signups are now open and you can call into the Golf Shop to sign up. This one fills up fast, get your name on the list for this wonderful club experience. We are once again asking Golf Members to bring outside guests for this event. Those seniors wanting to be involved in any Tuesday/Thursday senior’s golf play day

events, please call the golf shop and we can assist you in getting involved with this lively group. There is also a monthly group that plays golf and then goes to dinner. Please feel free to ask about joining in the fun. NEW SPRING wear comes in around the first of March. Our shop will be fully stocked with the latest and greatest apparel from Nike, Footjoy, HMS golf Collection and Donald Ross. Make sure to stop in and check it out. There may be a new vendor or two in the shop! For those needing new clubs, we have a Titleist Club Fitting day set up for March 27th. Please call the shop and they can let you know how to sign up online for a time if you are interested in the new TS irons or the New TS Drivers and fairway woods. At the Academy we have all new state of the art Fitting Carts from Taylor Made, Callaway, Mizuno and Ping. Come by the Academy and get an appointment to start the year off right and get fit perfectly to your new optimal clubs. We have the newest Ts100, TS200 and TS 300 irons from Titleist ready for you to take to the course and demo. Remember, if you are looking for new clubs, whether that be a full set or just a putter, come by the golf shop to get the best service and deals in town. Last but not least, don’t forget about the Shoes. If it’s time to upgrade and throw away last year’s pair, make sure to check out our inventory. We have a wide selection from Nike, Footjoy, Adidas, and Callaway for men and women.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our beautiful course looking as good or better than you find it during your round. Please continue to exhibit proper etiquette in repairing all ball marks properly, sanding lots of divots along the way, and smoothing bunkers throughout the day. Also, remember to follow all cart rules, directional ropes, and signage reminders throughout your round. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Answer: No he can’t remove the stake it is a 2 stroke penalty. If a player hits a ball out of bounds or loses a ball, the general rules still require the player to return to the spot of the previous stroke and take a one-stroke penalty - a standard stroke-and-distance scenario. He may under the new rules: the player can take a drop in the nearest spot of the fairway (within two club-lengths of the edge of the fairway), no nearer the hole than where the ball crossed the OB line, with a two-stroke penalty.
