• Parks and Playground areas are private Club property Members & Accompanied Guests are welcome.

• Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

• Members are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

• Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

• Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain on-leash while on BridgeMill property.

• No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

• Do not use sidewalk chalk underneath the Park Pavilion.

• No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

• Baseballs, softballs and bats are not permitted in the park/playground area, including the open field.

• No profanity is allowed.

• No running up the slides.

• The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

• No sitting, walking or standing on the horizontal ladders.

• Do not jump out of swings.

• Keep small children away from the large children swings.

• Do not throw sand.

• No sitting or climbing on top of the slide towers.

• No hanging on the basketball rims.

• Glass is not permitted.

• Scooters, bicycles, strollers, skateboards, skates, chairs, vehicles, or similar equipment are not permitted on the basketball courts.

• BridgeMill's Park and surrounding areas are smokefree.

• All trash must be disposed of in proper containers.

It’s a BYOB and Snack to share, dress in your best 70’s garb, dance the night away and you just might win for best dressed... learn some new 70’s moves, play some games and meets some new friends!

Next up is a St. Patrick's themed Kids Craft on Tuesday, March 10th.We'll show them how to grow a big orange beard and learn how to dance the Irish Jig! *we tend to get messy* Kids Craft now starts at 4:30pm and ends at 6:00pm.

G RO U P F I TNESS CLAS SES LOW IMPACT TOTAL WORKOUT: Mondays 10:30am This moderate intensity class combines low impact cardio and strength exercises with core and stretching for a fun total body workout. Suitable for all fitness levels.

FITNESS INFERNO: Tuesdays 8:15am This moderate to high intensity workout combines 3 rounds of 10 cardiovascular exercises with body weight and strength exercises to burn substantial calories, and strengthen all major muscle groups.

H.I.I.T. BLAST: Wednesdays 9:15am High intensity interval training helps you be more efficient in less time. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by short recovery breaks. Bodyweight exercises , plyometrics, and other training techniques maybe used.

PUMP IT UP EXPRESS: Thursdays 7:30am This high energy, 30 minute, calorie scorching, cardio and muscle endurance class, utilizes light to moderate weights, with lots of repetitions, for a total body workout CARDIO KICKBOXING: Fridays 8:15am A fun, energetic class that combines choreographed movements of punches, kicks and knee strikes set to the latest music. Expect a full body workout that engages every muscle group, torches calories, build s lean muscle and improves flexibility, balance and coordination.

BARRE/PILATES FUSION CLASS: Wednesdays 10:30am This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates.

Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on sculpting long, lean muscles while challenging the core with each movement. This low impact class is great for all ages and fitness levels.

KINDSTRETCH: Fridays 9:30am Learn movement patterns that promote full body control to Improve flexibility, mobility and joint strength.

GO4LIFE: Tuesdays 1:00pm This Senior Health Fitness program is designed by the National Institute on Aging and focuses on fitting exercise and physical activity in to daily living. It is for any Active Aging Adult who is currently exercising or in need of a guide to get moving or be more active.

Individuals will exercise weekly, set goals, track progress, and receive nutrition guidance. To learn more go to: go4life.nia.nih.gov All class fees are $3 per class or $32 per month (must be paid at the first of the month). Fees may be charged to your Member account. SPECIALTY GROUP FITNESS Specialty fitness programs are short term (4-8 week) sessions that are goal specific and include an added personal experience.

CARDIO/STRENGTH CIRCUIT

Mondays 7:00pm with Andrea. This cardio/strength, small group class is held in the cardio weight room.

It is performed in a circuit format that moves from cardio vascular machines to weight machines. The class is designed for all fitness levels to tone muscles and increase meta- bolic function for more calories burned over a longer period of time. Members must register for the class each month (4x/month $20).

The Pilates workout utilizes a spring and pulley resistance system along with bodyweight movements to provide a challenging workout that builds core strength, endurance, coordination while improving flexibility and balance. He may under the new rules: the player can take a drop in the nearest spot of the fairway (within two club-lengths of the edge of the fairway), no nearer the hole than where the ball crossed the OB line, with a two-stroke penalty.

MGA ANNUAL MEETING AND 2018 BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS The MGA held their Annual Meeting on January 18th to elect new board members. Over 70 MGA members who attended were treated to a Bloody Mary Breakfast Buffet as part of the meeting. The food, beverages, and fellowship were great and the golf was great too.

MGA IRON MAN 3-CLUB SOCIAL On that same day, the MGA kicked off the 2020 Golf season with 62 golfers competing in the MGA Iron Man 3-Club Social. Craig Sager was a Hall of Fame sports reporter, known for his colorful suits and fun spirit reporting for Turner Sports for 34 years, on the NBA, Olympic games and Atlanta Braves post season. He lost his battle with leukemia in 2016. Craig’s passion for all sports and his lifelong love of running, is the inspiration for this event.

ALTA LEAGUE DEADLINES

JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAM The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players.

The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth.

We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner. Contact the Tennis Shop for class schedule updates, available space and to sign up.

EXCEL FUTURE STARS DEVELOPMENT GROUPS 5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.

Mondays, 5:15-6:15 – starts March 9 – 6 week session 7-10 years - These classes are for juniors with little or no tennis experience.

We focus on developing athletic skills, fundamental stokes and learning how to play points and keep score.

Mondays, 5:15-6:15 – starts March 9 – 6 week session 11-16 years – This group is for players with little or no experience. Players will be taught every shot, how to score, how to play a match. This group is great for those aspiring to play on their high school teams and know what they are doing.

Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00 – starts March 10 – 6 week session

EXCEL ACADEMY The Academy group is for intermediate to advanced players, ages 11 & up, who are committed to improving their game. This high energy group of players is striving to play tournaments, high school tennis or working to get a college scholarship. The Head Coach of the academy is Jennifer Pourchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University tennis teams! One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability level and age. Drills focus on proper strokes, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness.

The group meets Monday and/or Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm. This program runs throughout the school year.

Please check in with the Pro Shop Attendant prior to play. Courts are in high demand so one person per court, whether from a team or individual reservation, should check in with the Pro Shop prior to their reserved court time to verify their court usage and pay any guest fees. The staff also will be able to let you know if there have been any changes to your court number at this time. Tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only. Accompanied guest fees are $10 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play.

The registration period for all summer ALTA rosters begins March 23 and the deadline is April 13th. This includes Adult Mixed Doubles, Senior (45 +) Men & Women Players on BridgeMill league teams must be Tennis or Golf members in good standing.

Captains must get approval from the Tennis Department before submitting a roster to the league. Posted in the Pro Shop is a list of players looking for teams and teams looking for players. Call the Pro Shop if you want your information on this list.

BALL RECYCLING Instead of launching your used or bad tennis balls out of the court please drop them off at the Pro Shop or leave them on the tray by the scorekeepers to be recycled. Old tennis balls have a multitude of uses after their tennis life has expired. Teachers, boaters & dog lovers are always calling us for old tennis balls. Plus, tennis balls do not disintegrate into the ground so to be kind to the earth please help us recycle tennis balls.

BRIDGEMILL SIXES SERVICE LEAGUE BSSL MARCH 2020

Together, we can make a difference

This year is the twenty year anniversary of the BridgeMill Sixes Service League (BSSL). We had 10 new members join this year for a total of 76 active members.

We were very excited to learn that Dottie Jones, one of our current members, was also one of the original members. She shared the history of BSSL with us: One of the residents put a notice in the BridgeMill News asking any interested women to meet for the possibility of forming a “ladies club”. The meeting was held in her home in September of 2000.

About 10 women attended and that was the beginning of the “BridgeMill Ladies Club”. It was immediately apparent that this dedicated group of ladies was all about “giving back” – with fun and friendship added for good measure. We received inquiries about the group from women in the general Sixes community who were also interested in assisting the less fortunate in our area.

The “ladies club” evolved into the BridgeMill-Sixes Service League and we became an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization. 100% of the monies we raised has always been donated and/or used for the charities we support. Annual dues fund the operating expenses. It is hard to believe that twenty years have passed and it’s a tribute to the dedicated membership that BSSL has continued to grow and raise thousands of dollars for the benefit of the less fortunate.

Bunco for Charity was our February fundraiser-always a fun and successful event, and this year’s proceeds went to the Cherokee Family Violence Center.
