RULES CORNER QUESTION Anthony is playing hole #3 and drives the ball way right into the woods. He finds his ball but it in on the out of bounds line right by the stake. What are his options? Can he remove the stake?

All Full Golf Members: Don't forget to pickup your Complimentary Golf Guest Passes in the Golf Shop.

Answer: No he can’t remove the stake it is a 2 stroke penalty. If a player hits a ball out of bounds or loses a ball, the general rules still require the player to return to the spot of the previous stroke and take a one-stroke penalty - a standard stroke-and-distance scenario. He may under the new rules: the player can take a drop in the nearest spot of the fairway (within two club-lengths of the edge of the fairway), no nearer the hole than where the ball crossed the OB line, with a two-stroke penalty.

MGA NEWS by Jeff Graham

MGA ANNUAL MEETING AND 2018 BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS The MGA held their Annual Meeting on January 18th to elect new board members. Over 70 MGA members who attended were treated to a Bloody Mary Breakfast Buffet as part of the meeting. The food, beverages, and fellowship were great and the golf was great too.

MGA IRON MAN 3-CLUB SOCIAL On that same day, the MGA kicked off the 2020 Golf season with 62 golfers competing in the MGA Iron Man 3-Club Social. The Iron Man format was a two-man scramble so more strategy was placed on choosing the right three clubs as a team even though sharing was not allowed. There was some crazy putting with hybrids, woods, and wedges.
