Install a new wiper ring and O-ring in the head gland. Apply a thin coat of oil on the seal, wear ring and wiper in the head gland, prior to installation on the rod.

Step 7

Using care, slide the head gland over the threads and onto the cylinder rod.

Step 8

Install a new O-ring (1), backup ring (2) and O-ring (3) on the head gland.

Install the O-ring on the cylinder rod.

Push the O-ring against the base. Be sure the O-ring is not twisted.

Step 10

Install the piston on the cylinder rod.

Step 11

Apply Loctite ® #271 Thread Lock (or equivalent) on the threads. Install and tighten the nut on the cylinder rod to 450 ft.- lbs. (610 Nm) torque.
