SHORT CORN OPERATION When operating the LS system, always select “MANUAL” when first entering the field. Once you have maintained your operating speed and the cutting and/or pulling depth, select “AUTO.” When you come to an area where the corn is very short, such as a low spot in the field, you may want to switch to the “MANUAL” position until you reach FIG 5.30
taller corn. Always switch to the “MANUAL” position before you reach the end rows (fig. 5.30). This will allow the cutter or puller heads to maintain their cutting or pulling height when re-entering the field (fig. 5.31), then you may switch back to “AUTO.”
