NOTE: If the machine has been out of use for some time, see “Starting up after storage” in the “Storage” section. NOTE: See “Connecting booster batteries” in the “Electrical System” Section, if you have to start the engine using booster batteries. STEP 1
IMPORTANT: For a temperature over 5°C, hold the key in the pre-heat position for ten seconds. For a temperature of between -5°C and +5°C, hold the key in position for twenty seconds. For a temperature below -5°C, hold the key in position thirty seconds. Never hold the key in the pre-heat position for more than one minute. STEP 3

Leave the left hand control locking lever in the locked position and the pedals in the locked position.

Turn the starter switch key to the “ON” position, the battery charge and oil pressure warning lights come on. If necessary, replace defective bulbs. See “Replacing a bulb” in the “Electrical System” Section.

Turn the starter switch key to the pre-heat position and hold it there. The pre-heat indicator lamp comes on.
