OPERATING THE MACHINE IN WATER
CK98B004

1. Make sure that the bottom of the stream or stretch of water in which you will work, can support the weight of the machine. 2. Only the undercarriage must be below water level. The water may come up to the top of the tracks but no higher. IMPORTANT: Never work in water if the water level is higher than the tracks. 3. Before working in water, grease the attachment linkage, turntable bearing and turntable bearing teeth generously. IMPORTANT: Do not operate in a fast flowing stream.
PARKING THE MACHINE
Park the machine on flat, horizontal ground, away from soft ground, excavations or any poorly shored cavity. Place the upperstructure in line with the undercarriage. Retract the attachment and position it in line with the upperstructure, then anchor the bucket in the ground. Place the attachment and swing control locking lever in the locked position. Stop the engine, and remove the starter switch key. Lock the cab door. If necessary, cover the machine with a tarpaulin. Check that the no part of the machine is encroaching on the highway. If this cannot be avoided, set up approved traffic signs.
WARNING: Never jump down from the machine. When alighting from the operator’s compartment, or from the upperstructure, always face the machine and use the steps and access handles.

TOWING THE MACHINE
The machine should only be towed when it is in inoperable. First of all, make sure that it can be towed without causing additional damage. Wherever possible, carry out the repair at the site or consult your CASE Dealer.
WARNING: Towing is a delicate manoeuvre which is always carried out at the risk of the user. The manufacturer’s warranty does not apply to incidents or accidents which occur during towing. Where possible, carry out the repairs at the site.
WARNING: The machine must be towed very slowly, over a short distance and only if it is really unavoidable.
WARNING: It is mandatory that a towing bar be used for any towing operation, fixed to the towing point located at the rear of the undercarriage.
WARNING: The operator must be the only person on the machine when towing. Make sure that nobody is on the machine or within its working range.
