STARTING THE ENGINE

NOTE: If the machine has been out of use for some time, see “Starting up after storage” in the “Storage” section. NOTE: See “Connecting booster batteries” in the “Electrical System” Section, if you have to start the engine using booster batteries.

STEP 1

IMPORTANT: For a temperature over 5°C, hold the key in the pre-heat position for ten seconds. For a temperature of between -5°C and +5°C, hold the key in position for twenty seconds. For a temperature below -5°C, hold the key in position thirty seconds. Never hold the key in the pre-heat position for more than one minute.

STEP 3

CD98A016 Leave the left hand control locking lever in the locked position and the pedals in the locked position.

STEP 2

CD98A015 Turn the starter switch key to the “ON” position, the battery charge and oil pressure warning lights come on. If necessary, replace defective bulbs. See “Replacing a bulb” in the “Electrical System” Section.

CD98A015 Turn the starter switch key to the pre-heat position and hold it there. The pre-heat indicator lamp comes on.
