Mary Magee Gullatte, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, AOCN, LSSYB, FAAN Gullatte, a USAF veteran, is presently the Corporate Director of Nursing Evidence Based Practice & Research at EMORY Healthcare, Atlanta. Her leadership in nursing spans 45 years with comprehensive experience in Oncology Nursing practice, administration, leadership, academia and research. Dr. Gullatte is also an Adjunct Faculty at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. As a Nurse Practitioner, her focus is on primary care in adults. She served seven years as Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Atlanta, Georgia. Mary is the pastPresident of the National Oncology Nursing Society from 2012 – 2014. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences representing six of the seven continents: including, invited speaker and oncology nurse consultant in Ghana, West Africa, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Brazil, Amsterdam, Turkey, Oman-UAE, Thailand, China, United Kingdom, Brussels, France, Philippines, and New Zealand. Dr. Gullatte has gratuitously contributed to the body of published professional literature through articles and textbooks. Her recent book, 21st Century Nursing Leadership received Book of the Year honors in 2018 by the American Journal of Nursing. She is the lead editor of the 4th Edition of the 2020 Chemotherapy Handbook. Throughout her career, Dr. Gullatte has received numerous awards and recognitions for her meritorious professional and community service. She has served on the Joint Commission Nursing Advisory Board for eight years, and in 2010, was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing. In 2020, Dr. Gullatte was honored as Distinguished Nurse of the Year from the Atlanta March of Dimes. Dr. Gullatte is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Currently, Dr. Gullatte serves on the Boards of the Nursing Services Organization and Georgia Nurses Association & Foundation [GNA/GNF]. She led the GNA/GNF Task Force in publishing a Policy Brief on Advancing Health Equity in Georgia. Dr. Gullatte is the executive sponsor and founder of the Emory Nurse Health Policy, Legislative, and Advocacy Council. She enjoys mentoring, empowering, and inspiring future generations of nurses to excel and achieve greatness beyond their imagination. Her palpability to revolutionize healthcare by preventing disease, improving patient and provider outcomes, and their wellbeing is indisputable. Dr. Gullatte considers her greatest legacy is being a wife of 45 years to husband Rodney, Sr., son, Rodney, Jr., daughter, Ronda, and four loving grandchildren.
