Juan Turner has 22 years of food service experience and has worked for reputable high-end restaurants, like Ritz Carlton, Chateau Elan, The Westin Buckhead, and Bistro off Broad. He could have continued climbing the corporate ladder by going to New York or Los Angeles, or even opended his own restaurant, but instead, for the past 10 years he has found comfort and solace working in a healthcare setting. “I lead in the food industry by serving,” says Chef Turner. “There is no greater pleasure than serving the patients and the hospital staff.” Chef Juan Turner loves the mission statement of Northeast Georgia Health System: “Improving the health of the community in all we do” as it aligns closely with his life’s-mission. “With my healthcare job, I am not just providing instant gratification like I would get with a restaurant chef’s job. I get to make an impact on the long-term health of those I serve.” Chef Turner takes pride in offering consultations, doing hospital rounds and talking about healthy living food options with in-house patients.
