Sport - BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate Overview
This course provides a sound foundation for the Sport sector, undergraduate study and employment within this sector.
Students study: • Unit 1 - Anatomy and Physiology. Externally assessed using a written exam out of 80 marks (1.5 hours duration)
This course will help prepare students for a variety of jobs in the sports/fitness industry. The following are possible career opportunities which Sports courses can open up for students, when combined with higher education programmes in the sport and exercise sector:
• Unit 2 - Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being. Externally assessed using a synoptic exam and completed under supervised conditions. In Part A, learners will be given a case study one week before, to carry out preparation. In Part B, the supervised assessment is a written exam out of 60 marks (2.5 hours duration)
