Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including Mathematics and English grade 5 GCSE Computer Science Grade 5+

Overview

The A Level Computer Science qualification helps students understand the core academic principles of computer science. Classroom learning is transferred into creating real-world systems through the creation of an independent programming project. Our A Level will develop the student’s technical understanding and their ability to analyse and solve problems using computational thinking. In addition to the end-of-course examinations there is a Non-Examined Assessment which consists of a substantial programming task in which students have to analyse a problem, then design and code a solution in a text-based programming language. This course would suit students who have followed the GCSE Computer Science course and who may be thinking of pursuing a career in Computing or studying a Computing-related degree at University.
