Biology A Level Overview
Biology A level expands the concepts introduced to students at GCSE, whilst adding a range of fascinating new ones. Biology is one of the most multifaceted academic subjects, covering topics from the molecules which make up our bodies to the future of our entire planet. Discoveries in Biology have, and continue to give rise to innovations which protect, preserve and enhance plant, animal and human life. Whilst Biology is a challenging discipline, our department has a high retention rate at A level and a high success rate in terms of grades and destinations; with many students taking Biology related subjects in Higher Education such as Ecology, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Zoology, for example.
Entry Requirements 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including English Language and grade 5 in two Science GCSEs including Biology Grade 5 Maths
