¿Alguna vez has pedido gazpacho y paella en un restaurante libanés?. ¿Viajaste a Nepal para asistir a una misa Gospel?. ¿Fuiste a comprar un Kimono a Burundi?. Si has respondido afirmativamente a alguna de estas preguntas, podemos afirmar que eres un claro ejemplo de lo que en medicina moderna se denomina como: un puto tarao. En ese caso, te aconsejo encarecidamente que dejes de leer esto, anules tu suscripción a la Asociación Nacional del Rifle y busques urgentemente ayuda psiquiátrica. Y es que, por mucho que la globalización trate de convencernos de que hoy en día es posible hacer cualquier cosa desde cualquier parte del mundo, todos sabemos que no es así y que un Jamón Ibérico “made in Bangladesh” tiene menos futuro y glamour que el Dalai Lama como stripper. Dicho esto y centrándonos en la industria musical, no podemos negar que los reyes del mambo son los británicos. No sé si porque desayunan alubias con kétchup o porque toman té como si lo fueran a prohibir, pero lo cierto es que tienen un paladar especialmente entrenado para detectar al instante todo lo que sepa, huela o suene a “pepinazos rompe pistas”. Y ya que hemos llegado a este punto, voy a hablarte de uno de estos sabuesos musicales ingleses llamado Colin Peters. Mr Peters lleva más de 20 años pinchando en las mejores discotecas y festivales de Europa: desde Manumission (Privilege), Pacha o Space en Ibiza, al FIB de Benicassim o el Reading Festival. También ha sido durante varias temporadas dj residente de Ibiza Rocks y Mallorca Rocks y desde 2005 lo es de Rock Nights. Vamos que el tipo está metido en todo fregao que lleve la palabra Rock, a excepción de Rocky VI. Pero a pesar de su impresionante curriculum vitae, más que “pincha discos” yo definiría al señor Peters como un auténtico minero de la música. Su auténtica pasión es sumergirse en las profundas e insondables minas del pop, rock, Indie Dance y la electrónica de ayer y hoy en busca de las pepitas de oro musicales más brillantes. Y para que todos los tesoros sonoros que va encontrando lleguen hasta tus orejas, desde hace seis años Colin presenta Rock Nights Radio, un espacio radiofónico semanal lleno de canciones, reportajes y originales entrevistas a dj y artistas como Dorian, David Kano, Nasty Mondays, Mystery Jets, Monarchy, Jeff Automatic… El programa se emite todos los domingos a las 23h a través de Vicious Radio http://www.viciousradio.com, pero también puedes escucharlo cuando te dé la gana en Mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/NewRockNightsRadio/. Así que aunque estés en el Líbano, en Nepal o en Burundi, no tienes excusa para no escucharlo (a no ser, eso si, que seas un puto tarao, en cuyo caso te remito al párrafo 1 de este artículo).

As much as globalisation tries to convince us that nowadays it is possible to do anything, wherever you are, we all know that this isn’t true, and that an Iberian ham "made in Bangladesh" has less future and glamour than The Dalai Lama as a stripper. After letting that thought sink in, we can’t deny that the Mambo Kings of music are the British. I do not know if it’s because they eat baked beans or drink tea as if it is about to be banned, but the truth is that they have a specially trained nose to detect instantly everything that smells like a “bloody big hit”. To prove my point I’m going to talk about one of these English music sleuths, whose name is Colin Peters. Mr Peters has been playing for more than 20 years in the best clubs and festivals in Europe: from Manumission (Privilege), Pacha and Space in Ibiza, to FIB Beniscassim and Reading Festival. He was also resident DJ at Ibiza Rocks and Mallorca Rocks, and since 2005 is resident DJ at Rock Nights. Let's say that the guy is involved in everything that carries the word “rock”, with the exception of Rocky VI. But despite his impressive curriculum vitae, I would describe him more as a “musical miner” than a "disc jockey”. His real passion is to immerse himself in the deep and unfathomable mines of pop, rock, indie dance and electronica, from yesterday and today, in search of the brightest musical gold nuggets. These are polished off and presented each week on his weekly radio show, Rock Nights Radio. On air since 2012, it has also featured interviews with the likes of Dorian, David Kano, Nasty Mondays, Mystery Jets, Monarchy and Jeff Automatic, among a host of national and international guests. The programme is broadcast live every Sunday at 11pm (CET) on Vicious Radio www.viciousradio.com, but you can also listen to it whenever you’d like on Mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/NewRockNightsRadio/. So even if you are in Lebanon, Nepal or Burundi, you have no excuse not to listen to it (unless, that is, you are a fucking lunatic, in which case I refer you to paragraph 1 of this article).
