Don’t Let Reality Spoil a Fabulous Party

NO DEJES QUE LA REALIDAD TE FASTIDIE UNA FABULOSA FIESTA

Lo siento mucho amigas, pero hay cosas de esta sociedad moderna que por mucho que me las expliquen, yo no alcanzo a entenderlas. Por ejemplo: ¿cómo es posible que alguien en Albacete le mande un WhastsApp a otro alguien de Sidney y este lo reciba tan solo una milésima de segundo después de haberlo enviado?. Pero ojo, que la cosa no acaba ahí, porque alguna vez mi madre me ha respondido

a un mensaje incluso antes de que yo lo hubiese escrito.

Si, ya sé que la ciencia tiene una respuesta para todo (menos para lo de mi madre), pero para un señor de pueblo como yo, estas cosas son y siempre serán magia negra.

Otro gran enigma de la humanidad que me desvela por las noches es: “el misterioso caso de las fiestas de aniversario del Fabuloso”. Me explico: el Fabuloso es un bar que, los no menos fabulosos Silvia Superstar y Edu por las Noches abrieron en noviembre de 2009 en el madrileño barrio de Malasaña. Entonces, ¿alguien me puede explicar por qué demonios el cumpleaños del local se celebra en agosto, en vez de en noviembre y en Ibiza, en lugar de en Madrid?.

Para llegar hasta el fondo del asunto, hace unas semanas decidí reunirme con carácter de urgencia con Silvia Superstar. La cita tuvo lugar en la piscina del hotel Dorado en Ibiza y duró exactamente 2,26 segundos, el tiempo que Silvia necesitó para dar una maravillosa, sencilla y aplastante respuesta a mi pregunta: “¡Pues porque sí!”. Y es que, al igual que un vasco nace donde le da la gana, la gente fabulosa celebra sus aniversarios donde y cuando les parece.

Este año la fecha elegida será el 17 de agosto y el sarao (con pool party included, baby) tendrá lugar a partir de las 17h. en el mítico hotel Pikes, un auténtico santuario del rock and roll donde gente como Freddie Mercury, George Michael o el mismísimo Julio Iglesias perpetraron sus más célebres desmadres erótico-festivos.

Alaska y Mario, Carlos Areces, Vinila Von Bismark, Lola Von Dage, Colin Peters o el mismísimo Tony Pikes (el Hugh Hefner de Ibiza), son solo alguno de los personajes abonados a esta fiesta, considerada para muchos como las más divertida, buenrrollera e irreverente de la Ibiza… Y decir esto en la isla de las fiestas te aseguro que no es moco de pavo.

Así que ya estás agarrando tu Smartphone y mandando un WhatsApp a tus amigos de Albacete, Sidney y más allá, con la fecha y hora del 8º aniversario del Fabuloso. Ah, y no olvides recordarles la única norma protocolaria para poder asistir a la fiesta: “haz lo que te salga del culo, siempre y cuando sea

jodidamente divertido”.

Sorry guys / gals but there are certain things in our so called modern society that no matter how many times they explain it to me, I still don’t get. For example, how is it possible that someone from StokeOn-Trent can send a WhatsApp to someone in Sydney, and this second person receives it a millisecond after it has been sent? The strangest thing is that on more than one occasion my mum has responded

to one of my messages even before I wrote it.

I know that science has an answer for everything (except my mum’s message), but for a townie like me these things will and always will be black magic.

Another of humanity’s grand enigmas is “the mysterious case of the El Fabuloso anniversary party”. Let me explain, El Fabuloso is a bar by the no less fabulous Silvia Superstar and Edu por las Noches, which opened November 2010 in the Madrid neighbourhood of Malasaña. So, can someone explain to me why the hell the bar’s anniversary party is held each August in Ibiza instead of Madrid in November?

To get to the bottom of this conundrum I decided to hold an urgent meeting with Silvia Superstar by the Dorado Ibiza Hotel pool. The meeting lasted exactly 2 and a half seconds, the time Silvia needed to say “Just because!” And in the end, just as a cat does what it wants, the Fabuloso gang celebrate their anniversaries whenever and wherever they please.

This year’s Fabuloso anniversary will be held on the…… August (with pool party included baby) from 5 p.m. in the legendary Pikes Hotel, an authentic rock ‘n’ roll sanctuary where people like Freddie Mercury, George Michael and Julio Iglesias partied hard… very hard.

Alaska and Mario, Carlos Areces, Vinila Von Bismark, Lola Von Dage, Colin Peters and Mr Tony Pikes (the Hugh Hefner of Ibiza) are just some of the characters you’ll find at this party, considered by many to be the funniest, coolest and silliest in Ibiza. And saying that on party island is no mean feat.

I know you’ve got your smartphone In hand, sending Whatsapp to your friends in Stoke On Trent, Sydney and beyond, with the time and date of the 8th anniversary of Fabuloso. Just remember this golden rule if you want to go to one of the parties of the year, “Do whatever you feel like, as long as

it fucking fabulous!”
