Pues bien, Curro Coronel actualmente reside en Londres. El showroom de la marca y su estudio se encuentran en el conocido barrio de Notting Hill y vive a caballo entre su tienda “ La Sombrerería Clandestina” en el barcelonés Barrio de Gràcia y las ferias de moda a las que puede asistir.
Well, Curro Coronel currently resides in London. The showroom of the brand and its studio are located in the well-known neighborhood of Notting Hill where he resides, but splits his time between Fabrica Lab “La Sombrerería Clandestina” store in Barcelona’s Barrio de Gràcia and the fashion fairs he can attend.
Su trabajo es íntegramente artesanal, empieza y termina con sus manos y él se define así, cómo un artesano con alma de artista. De familia le viene lo de artista, su abuelo y su padre cantaban flamenco, pero su padre eligió la familia por encima de la dedicación que necesita el arte.
His work is entirely handmade, he starts and ends with his hands and he defines himself as such: a craftsman with the soul of an artist. His artistic vein runs in the family. His grandfather and father sang flamenco, but his father chose the family over the dedication that art needs.
A él no le ha ocurrido, corren otros tiempos a favor del arte, en pro de los artistas y reconoce, que aunque actualmente el sombrero es un producto duro en este mercado, él está mas que convencido de que tiene un lugar en la moda, un lugar que se le arrebató hace tiempo y que Curro quiere devolver a golpe de trabajo y dedicación.
For him, modern artistic times have been on his side yet he recognizes recognizes that although the hat is currently a hard product in this market, he is more than convinced that the hat has a place in fashion, a place that was snatched from it long ago and that Curro wants to give back to work and dedication.
Sus sombreros tienen una elaboración delicada, puede tardar días en completar uno de ellos, es muy perfeccionista con lo que hace. Siempre tiene que haber un sentido entre lo que que ve y lo que siente. “Mucha víscera puesta en el trabajo”, se dice algunas veces. Es solo una muestra de su temperamento, algo que le persigue desde sus tiempos de jugador, la vehemencia. Como padrino en Ibiza tiene a Diego Calvo Ibiza, empresario conocido por su imperio hotelero Concept Hotel Group, alguien que ha apostado por su producto y por él. A Curro lo podrás encontrar éste verano en las fiestas Rock Nights en Pikes, donde podrás comprar sus productos y verlo trabajar de primera mano. También en los conciertos de Dorado Live Shows en Santos y en la Arty Party en Paradiso. Curro Coronel viene para quedarse y llega con una propuesta clara, firme y con mucha contundencia: quiere que sus sombreros vistan las fiestas de Ibiza. En el Hotel Paradiso tendrá un punto de venta en el que puedes adquirir sus sombreros y hacerlos a medida, algo que a Curro le encanta, hacer un sombrero con personalidad, con el carácter de la persona que lo llevará, un sombrero con alma.
