CINERAMA Menos festivales y más Cinerama by Pablo Burgués
Señoras y señores, damas y damos, caballeros y caballeras: todos en pie porque ya está aquí la 2ª edición del festival de cine Cinerama. Bueno, en realidad no se trata de un festival de cine ya que aquí no hay premios feos, ni hay que ir vestido de esmoquin, ni tampoco hay películas de esas raras que no hay Dios que entienda. Aquí somos más de peliculón de culto, pantalla gigante al aire libre, tumbona frente al mar, un buen cubo de palomitas en una mano y un Gin Tonic Larios Rosé en la otra. Y toooooodo ello por tan solo 20€. Y es que habiendo No-festivales así, ¿quién demonios quiere festivales?. Las proyecciones tendrán lugar de junio a septiembre (los viernes en la terraza de Dorado y los martes en la terraza de Paradiso Art Hotel) y cada uno de los meses estará dedicado a un tema:
Junio: In Love With The Soundtrack
La cinta de casete que más trituré en mi pubertad fue el Nevermind de Nirvana. Le metí tanta caña que, al igual que Kurt Cobain, la cinta murió joven y dejó una bonita carcasa. Pero para entonces el grunge ya corría por mis venas nena, así que no tardé en pillarme de nuevo el disco en CD y años más tarde en vinilo. Sin embargo, los riffs y alaridos de Mr. Cobaya nunca más volvieron a sonar igual de sucios, macarras y cojonudos que en mi pobre casete que en paz descanse. Y es que hay discos que vinieron al mundo para ser escuchados en un soporte en concreto y hacerlo en cualquier otro es como beber cerveza sin alcohol, que parece que sí pero es que no. Dicho esto, el mes de junio proyectaremos 3 discazos que nacieron para ser película: 24H Party People, Studio 54 y Streets of Fire.
Julio: American Attitude
¿Como hacen estos cabrones de americanos para que incluso las cosas más aburridas y anodinas de su cultura molen tanto?. Sus furgonetas de helados molan, sus chaquetas universitarias molan, sus buzones molan, sus entierros molan, sus carreteras secundarias molan, su presidente mola… Bueno el de ahora no mucho, pero el anterior no podía molar más y lo sabes. Así que haciendo honor a la frase “si algo gusta para qué cambiarlo”, este mes lo dedicaremos a dar un paseo por el American Way of Life: Almost Famous, From Dusk Till Down, Black Mirror: Special San Junipero, American Graffity, Drive y Cocktail.
Agosto: Young & Rebels
No digan Agosto, digan “A gusto”, porque el tema elegido para este mes será Sex, Drugs & Rock´n´Roll: The Lost Boys, The Outsiders, Risky Business y True romance. A buen entendedor pocas palabras bastan (y no me pongas cara de bueno que no cuela).
Septiembre: Best Actress Award
Y del mismo modo que hicimos en la ceremonia de apertura de este este artículo, pongámonos todos en pie para recibir a las encargadas de llevar a cabo la ceremonia de clausura del No-Festival de cine Cinerama 2018. Un fuerte aplauso para Michelle Pfeiffer, Carmen Maura, Rossy de Palma y Chus Lampreave, o lo que es lo mismo: Grease 2 y Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios. Well here it is ladies and gentlemen! Be upstanding for the 2nd edition of the Cinerama Film Festival is here. OK, it’s not really a film festival because there aren’t any prizes, you don’t have to wear a tuxedo, and there aren’t any of those strange movies that no one understands. Here we just got cult movies, a giant outdoor screen, beach chairs, a big bucket of popcorn in one hand, and a Larios Rose gin tonic in the other. All for just € 20. The screenings will take place from June to September (Fridays on the Dorado terrace and Tuesdays on the Paradiso terrace) and each month will be dedicated to a theme:
June: In Love With The Soundtrack
The cassette tape I most played to death in my youth was Nirvana – Nevermind. Man I caned that tape so much that, like Kurt Cobain, it died young and left a nice corpse. But by then the grunge was already running through my veins, so I bagged the album again on CD, and years later on vinyl. However, the riffs and shouts of Mr. Cobain never sounded as dirty, scary and fucked up as on my poor cassette, R.I.P. There are records that are born be heard on certain audio equipment, and listening to them on anything else is like drinking nonalcoholic beer; it tastes like beer but isn’t. That said, in June we’ll screen three albums that were born to be movies: 24 Hour Party People, Studio 54 and Streets of Fire.
July: American Attitude
How do these American bastards do it? Even the most boring and mundane parts of their culture are cool. Their ice-cream vans are cool, their college jackets are cool, their mailboxes are cool, their funerals are cool, their secondary roads are cool, their president is cool ... Well, not the present one, but the previous one was supercool and you know it. So in honour of the phrase “If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it”, this month we’ll take a walk along the American Way of Life with the following movies: Almost Famous, From Dusk Till Dawn, Black Mirror Special: San Junipero, American Graffiti, Drive and Cocktail.
August: Young & Rebels
This month’s film theme will be Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll. I’ll leave you to think about that while I reel off the names of the films that feature plenty of all three: The Lost Boys, The Outsiders, Risky Business and True Romance. Sounds good, huh?
September: Best Actress Awarded
And just as we did in the Opening Ceremony of this article, let us all stand and welcome the women in charge of carrying out the Closing Ceremony of the Cinerama Non-Film Festival 1018.
