Literacy and Positive Culture for Learning
We are Proud, Strong, respectful, safe, Life Long Learners of Torres Strait Languages and English Literacy It warms our hearts to have our students and staff back after recharging their batteries on the holidays and able to stay the course we set two years ago in literacy. We look forward to having students ready and willing to be back in classrooms again.
2022 SSP Trial Results Systematic Synthetic Phonics We can all be really proud of our 2022, 34-week Systematic Synthetic Phonics results. Look at the improvements in both Spelling and Reading between Term 2 and Term 4.
Leading the way into this term, our Flagship’s Prep students and staff achieved some excellent results, in Term 1 and Term 2 when 14 out of 17 students achieved a C or above in their English pre-reading and spelling skills assessment. After only 2 Terms, their love of literacy is lighting the way. Our enrolments in Prep have increased by 20 children this year, from 32 in 2022, to 52 in 2023.

Just imagine what our student’s results will be like when our attendance improves.

Positive Culture for Learning Rewards Day
The Tagai Show
On Tuesday 17 July, our campus celebrated attainment of their Positive Culture for Learning whole-school behaviour goal with a sausage sizzle.
On Friday 14 July, our campus celebrated our Term 2 reward event The Tagai Show! Students got to particpate in carnival style games, lucky door prizes, show bags and the sliming of school staff. Our teachers and teacher aides congratulate all students that successfully demonstrated a positive culture for learning, earning their eligibility to attend The Tagai Show. Big eso to the G Block staff for organising and Mr O’Cloudy for set-up and pack down support.
