Our pride in the Winds of Zenadth

This week, NITV and the Torres Strait Islander Media Association (TSIMA) are proud to stand together as the official media partners of the spectacular Winds of Zenadth Kes Cultural Festival, with the 2025 theme of Ngul Ukamka Kayib, Bathayngaka, Kerker Orwai Atug or Continuing Past, Present and Future. NITV’s Head of Indigenous News and Current Affairs and
proud Mudburra and Wagadagam woman Natalie Ahmat said they were thrilled to be there. “NITV is thrilled to be back on Waiben in the Torres Strait Islands, connecting with our community,” she said. “We can’t wait to share the songs, ceremony and stories of the Torres Strait to a national audience on NITV News, The Point and all of NITV’s digital platforms” NITV’s broadcast includes
coverage from Natalie Ahmat, supported by Dan Rennie. TSIMA’s Diat Alferink and Sylvia Tabua will also be helping produce the Winds of Zenadth Cultural festival coverage. Radio 4MW broadcasters will work with a team from Bumma Bippera Media in Cairns, which includes Ruby Ketchell and Matthew Motlop. John Paul Janke, will be here next week to record The Point.
National media, including the ABC’s News Breakfast program and Koori Radio’s Agnes Ware, and others were also at the Festival.
