Scathing report into NSW regional health released By Christine Carney - May 6, 2022 The New South Wales (NSW) Parliamentary Inquiry into the state’s rural and regional healthcare has been released, with the NSW Government reaffirming its commitment to strengthen healthcare in the state. The report titled Health outcomes and access to health and hospital services in rural, regional, and remote New South Wales was released on 5 May 2022, outlining 44 recommendations for strengthening NSW health. introduced a bill into parliament on Monday seeking to extend the pandemic ‘emergency powers’ for Western Australia. While the duration of the extended powers will be subject to revision, this fourth extension is forecast to last until January 2023, rather than the previous expiration date of 4 July 2022. From farm trucks parked on the well-worn path to take away food waste for their animals, to the abundant supply of fresh fruit and vegetables being unloaded from Brett’s ute for needy local families, the scene in front of me was busy and happening. As my eyes scanned the boxes being vigorously packed in their humble garage by a cheerful bunch of volunteers, I noticed there was everything the average Aussie family would need for the week from fresh goodies, toiletries, dairy and meats, school supplies, and even the latest edition of popular monthly magazines and it was all free. Always. The constant stream of cars and people on foot picking up their weekly food boxes displayed an organised and well-run charity.
