We collaborate with Partners in the training, education and career development sectors, like Tafe NSW and Institute of transport & logistics at Sydney University to promote the industry and its many career pathways, to ensure we attract the talent required, develop the skills of professionals and with events like tonight, celebrate its achievements. We run a mentoring programme for those at any level of their career journey or assisting those that are looking to enter, move sideways in the industry. SCLAA has Chapters in each state, including face to face networking events, seminars, webinars. We partner with the largest industry conference organisers including Akolade, CeMat, Forefront and Megatrans. SCLAA provides the platforms and opportunities for industry and its professionals to gather, network and exchange ideas, Being part of our association, fills the basic need to be a part of something more, a tribe of like

minded individuals, working to make change that lead to far reaching improvements for industry overall? With respect to this year’s awards, a record number of submissions was received across all categories, demonstrating extraordinary innovation and ingenuity. Choosing Finalists from such a high calibre of Nominations, made it truly challenging and I would like to thank Nigel Edwards and the Judging committee for their expertise and tenacity in choosing the worthy recipients. Of course, such an event would not be possible without the support and hard work of many. Our ASCLA Committee for you, our ASCLA Sponsors, our Platinum National Partners: all our other National Partners and SCLAA Members for your continued support. On behalf of the SCLAA Board, I would like to congratulate the Finalists and Award winners, and trust you will enjoy in celebrating their achievements and the evening ahead.

Special Thanks to 2023 ASCL Awards Guest Speaker Paul Graham, Managing Director and CEO, Australia Post with the Public Service Medal by the government of Singapore for services to the logistics industry and regional development in 2015. In addition to his executive roles, Paul has also served as Chairman of a global digital marketing group based in London, served on various University and Government advisory Boards and also on Boards in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods and farming sectors. Migrating from Northern Ireland, Paul knows the value of Australia Post as an essential service; trusted to connect Australians to each other and to friends and family around the world.

Paul Graham is the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Australia Post. Paul is a supply chain industry leader, with more than 30 years’ experience, starting his career at 18 in customer service in the international cargo industry. Paul comes to Australia Post from Woolworths Group, where he was Chief Supply Chain Officer and Managing Director of Primary Connect. In this role he oversaw a strategic rebuild of the supply chain network, including over $2 billion of infrastructure investment. He has held senior roles working across logistics in Australia, the UK, Taiwan, Singapore and Germany, including as Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer for Europe, Middle East & Africa for DHL.
