MIRACLE TEA ELIXIRS
Tea time is always a special time to unwind & relax. Today we would love to share with you some of our favourite miracle tea elixirs and their many benefits! Dandelions are among the most easily recognised plants, easy to find on our beautiful island and brew delicious, healthy teas! Dandelion greens are packed with vitamins A, C, E, & K (aiding hair, skin, bone, vision & immune health!) as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, & magnesium. Plus they are also about 14% protein! Dandelion greens are especially beneficial for detoxing the liver and aid in flushing out toxins and remineralising the body. Nettle can be mistaken for a bothersome weed however it has been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years for its high nutrient content and ability to combat inflammation. It is ideal for supporting our bodies through periods of stress, it’s an amazing anti-inflammatory for tired organs and can aid the adrenal glands and reproductive system. It’s also been known to provide relief for hay fever which is a problem for a lot of us this time of year!
Hibiscus tea* is a delightful red tea with a vibrant flavour made from the flower petals. Notes of sweet flowers contrast with tart undertones for a beverage that will intrigue your tastebuds. Antioxidants within have been noted for their positive effects on supporting the liver, lowering cholesterol & blood pressure as well as having powerful anti-cancer properties. It may also be beneficial for weight loss, depression, sleep disorders, constipation, preventing bladder infections & mood swings. *Hibiscus may cause unwanted side effects for pregnant or nursing mothers.
The teas can be bought at any health shop, or you can make your own. Contact Siobhan Tomlin: info@lunafitlife.com ROQ U E TA M AGA ZI N E . N E T
