Many famous cricketers came to Menorca to support a two-day cricket and golf event to raise money for charity. The cricketers joined local players in an excellent game with some outstanding performances for a worthy cause, the JP21 Foundation. These photos show what a wonderful day was had by all in attendance.

Tim Hayden, the organiser from Hagley West, said ‘Last year I had a conversation with JP Duminy about putting on a charity cricket match… and it happened! It was unbelievable that these legends came out to support our dream and help raise funds for the JP 21 Foundation. To see Gladstone Small, Monty Panesar, Owais Shah, John Embury and JP playing at Menorca Cricket Club was incredible, a day all of us here won’t forget”

The JP21 FOUNDATION is dedicated to revitalizing the game of cricket in underdeveloped communities, where there is gang violence and substance abuse. Through their programs, they make cricket accessible to all learners and allow children to dream. In addition, they promote healthy lifestyle living and importantly creating a spirited environment. The benefit of sport encourages boys and girls to stay in school, improve discipline and respect their peers.

The dry wit of Gladstone Small on the microphone kept the onlookers entertained. Little did he know that he was sitting under the nutcrackers sign with Alison Truelove. After a dinner in S’Algar the next venue was Son Park Golf.
