OUT N ABOUT THE PORT

The once iconic floating terrace of restaurant La Minerva is no more. On 20th June local workers and divers removed the last of the floating pontoon and unceremoniously towed it down the port! Leaving nothing but the echo of lunches and dinners past from the many revellers who frequented this unique eating place. Also spotted the same day, Solar Panels being installed on the frameworks that have appeared along the port. Many of the car parks in Menorca have now been covered with solar panels, including a large installation at the hospital. Solar car parks enable electricity production in open spaces in urban areas and have the added benefit of shading the cars from the sun.
