Lan gu age Access Pl an & Pol icy Language Access Plan and Policy (LAPP) is designed to provide timely, meaning, and equal access to Judiciary programs, services, and information to Limited English Proficient and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals. In line with LAPP and Title VI of Civil Rights of 1964, the Judiciary holds annual training for court interpreters and staff. Pictured below is court interpreter training held on September 23, 2021, and Bench & Interpreters Roundtable Discussion held on October 1, in the Assembly Hall at Guma?Hustisia.
LAPP training involved a change of plea simulation with Public Defender Douglas Hartig and Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas and Court Interpreter Dennis Tse.
The Judiciary hosted a Roundtable discussion with interpreters, members of the bench, court staff, and a representative from the Office of Public Defender.
