Despite all the ongoing projects in the 1s t Quar ter, the Maintenance Department worked hard at maintaining the building grounds, facility, and equipment of the Judiciary. At the same time, the Department provided assistance to the contractors in order to ensure that the ongoing projects progressed smoothly and without delay. With the HVAC and mold remediation halfway done in the 2nd Quar ter the Maintenance Department began preparing the division office spaces and assisted with the relocation of furniture and equipment back into the Guma' Hustisia. The Maintenance Department also continued to work hard at maintaining the building grounds, facility, and equipment of the Judiciary and at the same time provided assistance to the contractors in order to ensure that the ongoing projects progressed smoothly and without delay for the months of April, May, and June. With the HVAC project coming to a close in the 3r d Quar ter, the Maintenance Department continued with preparing the division office spaces and assisting with the relocation of furniture and equipment back into the Guma' Hustisia. At the same time, the Maintenance Department continued to work hard at maintaining the building grounds, facility, equipment of the Judiciary and provided assistance to the contractors in order to ensure that the ongoing projects progressed smoothly and without delay for the months of July, August, & September.

- Remove furniture and other items within offices that were left behind by different divisions in order for the contractors to work on mold remediation and the replacement on air ducts. - Organize the furniture that was relocated to the Atrium. Sanitize those that can be reused and separate those that are meant for survey. - Provide contractors access to certain portions of the building. - Assist departments requiring assistance. - Remove outdated security locks. - Clean the curbside and storm drains. - Trim trees and hedges - Prepare and paint division offices. - Change lightbulbs in division offices and court rooms - Provide contractors access to certain portions of the building. - Work with departments requiring assistance such as relocation of furniture and equipment. - Relocation of equipment and furniture to allow working spaces for contractors. - Obtain quotes from vendors. - Prepare and paint judges? chambers for the Superior Court. - Relocate furniture for Superior Court

Judges. - Clearing of debris and disposing of trash - Water blasting sidewalks and cutting grass - Provide contractors access to certain portions of the building. - Set up for LAPP training. - Work with departments requiring assistance such as relocation of furniture and equipment. - Receive HVAC training for the new AC.

Although faced with many simultaneous projects, the Maintenance Department was able to assist contractors and other divisions and spent the following number of hours on projects:

General: 1,305 hours

HVAC & Mold Remediation: 634 hours

CARES Act: 17 hours

FEMA: 17 hours

Other Divisions: 543 hours

From April to June 2021, the Maintenance Department worked with over 30 different community volunteers who contributed a total of 302.5 hours.

In the second half of 2021, the Facilities team prepared the Guma' Hustisia for staff "Homecoming," after three years of holding court and offices at alternate sites during the HVAC construction. The building was bustling with activities--moving furniture, painting offices and replacing hundreds of fluorescent tubes. There was palpable excitment when the Guma' Hustisia opened its doors to the public.
