Question 20’s answer can be found in Table 2.4. Question 20 asked survey takers, “In what type of housing would you prefer to live?” The majority of people in both the renter and owner category said single family home, 56.52% and 93.90% respectively. However, renters did have 34.78% answer they would like to live in a townhouse/duplex/attached units (double, triple, etc.). It is not a surprise, when asked most people in the Midwest would prefer to live in a single-family dwelling unit. Table 2.4: Housing Desire by Tenure

Question 21 of the survey asked what the “Preferred number of bedrooms?” where. The rent group said between 2– and 4 or more bedrooms; while the homeowners were at 3– and 4 or more bedrooms. Very few people stated that a 1-bedroom unit would be desired.
