Why they Live Where They Do

Question 3 is focused on one of the key issues surrounding the housing study for David City and Butler County. There is a large workforce driving into the area for employment. One critical items to examine with the survey, was to determine why this was occurring; was it due to a lack of housing stock locally or another reason. Out of the 112 survey participants, only 20 answered this question. The answer with the largest number answering was “I like where I live”.

Question 4 is where some key questions started to build a profile of the housing stock and occupants for David City, Butler County, and the other communities. This question focused on the age of the respondent. Age was broken into 12 specific ranges starting at Under 19 years and going to 75 years or more. Overall, the typical dependent age groups, as far as housing (Under 25 years and 65 years and over) accounted for only 22.51 % of the respondents; therefore 77.49% of the respondents were between 25 years and 65 years of age. Considering some of the responses on other questions, there appears to be a large single person female population and/or a large single mother with children population base in the area.
