Table 2.7 relates to Question 24 which asked “Does the type of housing you desire exist in David City, Butler County, or any of the communities in Butler County?” The answers between Yes and No were split by both renters and owners without a defined majority. The owners, however, had 27.71% say they were not sure. There appears to be a lack of faith that the housing stock throughout Butler County does not meet the wants of those answering the question.

The final question asked the respondents their opinion on the type of housing that should be developed throughout Butler County. Their choices were “Affordable Apartments”, “Affordable Singlefamily Homes”, Housing for Seniors or Disabled Individuals”, “Apartment Communities with Amenities”, “Upper Scale Apartments” or “Upper Scale Single-family Homes (greater than $250,000).

Affordable Single-family Homes was followed by Affordable Apartments and Housing for Seniors or Disabled Individuals.

Homeowners were more willing to stay where they are currently. Only 29.27% anticipate moving in the next 5-years and 56.10% do not plan to move within the next 10-years.
