About The Solon Jazz Orchestra:
Solon Jazz Orchestra is the top Jazz ensemble at Solon High School. It is under the direction of Desmond Cervantez, who is in his 25th year at Solon. They compete regularly at several Jazz Festivals, and have qualified for Jazz Championships 7 times. They also have several home performances including their Coffee Shoppe Jazz Concert in the Spring.
About Drew Morton:
Drew Morton is an acomplished Graphic Design artist as well as a musician. Follow drewmadestuff on the social media channel of your choice to get a glimpse. In his band Koplant No, he put up a video art show to go along with the music. You can also see his work on books and album covers by many artists in our area.
As a musician, you see him in The Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra, Koplant No, Jack Lion, Christopher’s Very Happy Band, he worked with John Rapson on his Tamale Louie and Children of the Sun projects. he played First Friday in Steve Grismore’s Trio this month. he does kind of an ambient music things in a duo with guitarist Dan Padley. The list goes on and on. Truly a Renaissance Man!
