About The Lisbon Jazz Band:

The Lisbon High School Jazz Band is the top jazz band at the Lisbon Community School District, directed by Joseph Arch, another of the growing number of band directors who are also alums of this program. Lisbon finished 2nd in their class at Coe.

About Ed East:

Ed East has had a profound effect on hundreds of students, musicians, and music fans. Ed is an original member of Orquesta Alto Maiz. It is safe to say that that band literally created interest and a hunger for Latin Music in our little corner of the Midwest. Whenever you heard a jazz band perform a Latin tune, there’s a good chance they’ve cliniced with Ed, Bob Washut or Jim Dreier, both of whom performed last night in Cedar Rapids. Ed continues to lead the Salsa Band, which had a bit of a homecoming last year to the Iowa City Jazz Festival.

Ed performs in "Calle Sur" with Karin Stein. He also founded "The Afro-Latin Project" drum and dance ensemble. In addition to his own performing career, he is in-demand as a clinician and guest artist, bringing Latin music to students from Kindergarten through college.
