Lady Bulldogs win four, lose two during the week

Howe Head Coach Derek Lands talks to his players during Monday’s loss to Muenster. Michelle Carney/Howe Enterprise. The Lady Bulldogs (9-3) suffered their second loss of the season on Tuesday against Muenster (we incorrectly stated in the Nov. 25 edition that they were undefeated, but lost at Bridgeport on Nov. 19). Howe found themselves in unfamiliar territory, down 9-2 after the first quarter of action and the second quarter was a replica and an 18-4 lead by Muenster at the midway mark. But the Lady Bulldogs snapped back for a 12-9 third-quarter advantage and a one-point deficit in the fourth for a 37-25 loss on the home floor. Sierra Copeland led Howe with nine points. Others were Cassidy Anderson (8), Trinity Williams (5), Ally Harvey (2), and Jenna Honore (1). On Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs rebounded with a 43-35 win over Bowie in the Pottsboro tournament. Howe wasn’t challenged in the game as they held a 26-16 halftime lead. Copeland led Howe with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Honore dropped in 13 points with other scorers being Anderson (3), Williams (3), Landery Sanders (2), and Harvey (1). Howe also played Denison on Thursday where they beat the much larger school, 46-29. Denison actually had a firstquarter lead, but Howe won the final three quarters. Copeland had 15 points and 14 rebounds while Harvey added 10 points and 14 rebounds. Other scorers were Honore (7), Williams (5), Anderson (3), Sanders (3), and Wilson (3). The girls then took down Melissa on Friday, 45-36 where the Lady Bulldog s stormed out to a 10-2 lead. The game was pretty even beyond that point, but Howe’s

Harvey again was dominant with 16 points and seven rebounds. Copeland pulled down 14 boards and scored eight points in the win. Other scorers were Grogan (8), Anderson (5), Honore (4), Williams (3), and Paetyn Ford (1). Later on Friday, they beat Aubrey, 59-44 as the Twin Towers of Harvey and Copland combined for 31 points and 19 rebounds. Copeland led in both categories with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Harvey added 14 points and nine rebounds. Howe took a 28-21 lead into the half and never looked back. Other scorers were Honore (11), Grogan (5), Wilson (4), Sanders (3), Anderson (3), and Williams (2). Howe then finished out the busy weekend with a loss to Krum on Saturday by a score of 40-23. Harvey led Howe with 10 rebounds, but no Lady Bulldog reached double-digits in points against the stingy Krum defense. Scorers were Williams (7), Anderson (5), Copeland (4), Harvey (4), and Grogan (3). The Lady Bulldogs have scored 541 points this season (45.08 per game) and have allowed 481 (40.08 per game). The girls are scheduled to play at Farmersville on Tuesday night. Howe vs. Bowie photos Howe vs. Denison photos Howe vs. Melissa photos Howe vs. Aubrey photos Howe vs. Krum photos
